For years I’ve been working in travel and advising on vacation itineraries and bookings, and I would love to help YOU with it too! Whether it’s for a short overnight away or an epic three week adventure, I can work with you to secure your stays, book complex transportation and find the best things to do wherever you’re going.
I’ve been working in travel since 1997 as a writer, in hospitality, and travel advising. Unique adventures are my favorite type of travel to work with, but I fully understand and appreciate relaxing travel that re-energizes you and brings a breath of fresh air to daily life. Traveling with my family and solo has given me perspectives in how experiences can vary depending on the traveler and destination, and working within the LGBTQ+ community gives me insight into traveling while not fitting into social structure of every place we go.
Where do I start for planning a trip with you?!
Before we can start making a travel plan and getting things booked, I need to know what you’re interested in and WHO is traveling. If you follow us on Instagram or get our newsletter, you might feel like you know me, but I likely don’t know you… yet! Please complete THIS FORM to tell me a little about you, about the type of travel you would like help with, and give me some ideas about your travel style (fancy hotels or cabin in the woods, Alaska cruise or a beach in Mexico…).
How much does it costs to work with you?
Did you know that working with a travel advisor like me costs you nothing? That’s right! Even though I earn my keep as a travel advisor through commissions, those costs don’t come from the clients I work with, but the hotels and travel companies they complete their experiences with. Commission or not, my job is to help you put together the sort of travel that makes you happy and leaves you ready to plan your next trip.
What are your areas of expertise?
Ooh, good question! I would like to think that I know all the destinations in the world like the back of my hand, but that ain’t true. I have been traveling all my life and been many places, but not everywhere. My first choice for a trip is always going to be one with the purpose of experiencing nature and wildlife, and I’m okay with that being from either a luxury lodge or a camping tent. Road trips have always been a part of my life (I literally wrote the book on them: The Road Trip Survival Guide) but some destinations require me to surrender the wheels for a seaplane or boat, and I’m fine with that. I love helping people visit National Parks and get into the wilderness, and I myself will always love spending a week on a quiet beach too.
Here are my top areas of expertise for planning and booking travel:
- United States (intensive experience in the following)
- Florida Keys
- Alaska
- Hawaii
- Maine
- American SW
- National Parks
- Disney and Universal Parks travel
- Canada
- British Columbia
- Alberta
- Ontario
- Nova Scotia
- the Yukon
- Rail Journeys
- Mexico
- Baja California and the Sea of Cortez
- Quintana Roo and the Yucatan
- Europe
- France
- Italy
- Croatia
- Germany
- Netherlands
- South America – I love Peru and it’s the only travel planning in South America that I can do based on experience, but hopefully that’ll change soon!
- Asia – while our family has experience in China, Japan, Korea and Thailand, China is my strongest Asian destination to work with
Ready to work with me to plan an amazing adventure (or a necessary trip that’s just a part of life)? I’m ready for you! Please complete THIS FORM and I’ll follow up with you ASAP, which is usually within 24 hours unless I’m traveling, in which case you’ll still hear from me swiftly.
Looking forward to chatting and creating a fun and meaningful trip together!
